It was something by Seurat that first made a serious impression followed by all the isms that make up the roller-coaster ride that was modernism. When I began to make my own way I found myself between a decorative constructavism and a kind of geometric abstraction with images, early 'post-modern' I suppose.

During the eighties the focus of my work was on experimental documentary video with the Cambridge Alternative Video Group. CAVG produced work such as 'DH Lawrence and the Culture Industry' and 'Making Shakespeare', including interviews with Raymond Williams and others. Funded by Eastern Arts et al.

Around '88 I began to concentrate on my 2d work again, with painting and photography and then digital work. My own work is now almost entirely digital, everything else is by mapmap.
