day onethe element i've chosen to start working with is composed of a grid of tiles which will display random horizontal or diagonal lines. in order for the lines to connect i'm going to need two variations for each h or v diagonal - see drawing. each square of the grid can have either one of the h tiles or one of the v tiles showing or be blank and in order to easily control their colours they need to be on different layers.so at the end of the day i ended up with the first stage - below. clicking on the grid causes the grid to redraw but nothings moving yet. i was going to write a little aside here about why i use repeating units, parallels with society etc. but it took longer than i thought to get this far, so please feel free to make it up, i'm sure you get the drift. |
