day three

well i'm pleased with day2 but now i get to the interesting bit. i like coding and what i've done so far has given me a new unit of code i can drop in a movie whenever i need this element, i call them shards. however its play time and i want to see how the head from an earlier work fits in.

the pic left is of some whiteberries and the head of a shop display dummy rescued from a skip 14 years ago. what i thought to do was super-impose two versions of the head, one blurred and one quite sharp. saved as pngs the edges retain transparency so the solid colour of the shards blends into the head. one very useful thing with flashmx is dynamic masks, anyone who's used flash5 will be aware of the limits of its masking function, i used to have to use a very long-winded work around to produce this effect but now anyone can do it. got to fix that loading glitch.

if anyone is interested in the code behind this please mail me (mail@paulallitt.com), well any feedback is welcome.
